Pano
Problem: The pandemic has had a devastating toll on young children and isolation has significantly impacted child eating habits.
“Up to 50% of parents identify their children as picky eaters, noting behaviours such as food refusal and neophobia.” More than a million school trips have been cancelled due to COVID19, resulting in missed opportunities for learning about different cultures through new experiences. A lack of independence has resulted in children becoming more reliant on their parents and do very little unaccompanied.

Solution: ‘Pano’, in collaboration with Borough Market, will provide a unique tasting experience for children aged 5-8. The event will take place for one day in Borough Market, London on Saturday, 16 October, World Food Day 2021. The food will be donated by the independent stalls at Borough Market for the children to taste, with the aim to inspire and engage the local community. Designed with one main goal; to provide an opportunity for young children to experience dishes of different cultures, which they may not have been able to experience as a result of COVID19. The goal is additionally to get picky eaters involved in something fun, interactive and more importantly delicious.
